Some products are subject to purchase and use requirements that vary by province. Find information about pesticide requirements and regulated veterinary products below.
Some products are subject to purchase and use restrictions. The yellow and black “Pesticide licence required” marker identifies the affected products on our website.
Depending on your province, the product category and the intended use, a licence, certificate or other supporting documents may be required. Before ordering, check that your documents are valid and cover the intended activity.
Where an agricultural exemption allows it, SyrVet Canada accepts proof of bona fide farmer status. Depending on your province and circumstances, supporting documents may include official confirmation of farm status, an agricultural tax document or a farm fuel eligibility card. Eligibility must be checked for the product and intended use.
Email your applicable licence, certificate or proof of farm status to info@syrvetcanada.ca. Any product-specific declaration that is required must also be provided. If you are unsure, contact our team before ordering.

Certain veterinary medications require a prescription and must be dispensed by a veterinarian or pharmacist.
This oversight helps ensure that the treatment is appropriate for the animal and that the medication is used safely. A product may therefore be classified as non-prescription at the federal level while being subject to stricter sales requirements in Quebec.
In Quebec, these requirements are set out in the Regulation respecting the terms and conditions for the sale of medications, particularly sections 11 and 12 and Schedule IV.
SyrVet Canada operates as a distributor and does not provide pharmacy services to dispense these medications to the public. We therefore cannot sell them directly to farmers or animal owners, even with a veterinary prescription.
DMVET injectable products are among the product lines concerned. For sales in Quebec, SyrVet Canada supplies these products exclusively to veterinarians or pharmacists authorized to supply them in the course of their professional practice.
If you are an animal owner or farmer, contact your veterinarian or a pharmacy that provides this service to obtain these products.
